Online events
The nonprofit users’ and manufacturers’ group CAN in Automation (CiA) organizes in 2021 technology days in various languages. Topics include J1939, CANopen FD, and others. In the next time, they are held online.
The technology days address decision makers and managing development engineers, said the organization. They provide a general overview on CiA specification projects and international standardization activities. Some of them are limited to special topics and technologies. Usually, they are organized as one-day events. In times of the Covid-19 pandemic, they are held online (Zoom e-meetings) for about three hours. The group said that they hope that by end of the year, they can schedule them again as personal meetings.
In 2021, the following technology days are scheduled:
Name | Date* | Location* | Language | Registration |

At those technology days, the organization welcomes also speakers from CiA members. They talk mainly about applications and implementations. CiA staff editing CiA documents or participating in the related standardization bodies provide the theoretical part of the presentations.
There is a question and answer session after each presentation included. At the end of the technology day, there is the opportunity to discuss additional topics. The technology days do not provide very detailed technical content. This is the purpose of the CiA seminars (we already reported). The technology days include background information on possible applications and market information. They are presented in English, Chinese, or Russian languages. All of them are free of charge. They are recorded and uploaded to the Youtube channel.
