A remote-control solution consists of a controlling device with a (wireless) transmitter and a receiver device to be integrated in a controlled application. Scanreco’s G6 platform and G6 Micro transmitter base suit for applications where small size (210 mm x 170 mm x 179 mm, ca. 1,6 kg) is required. The IP65-protected device operates at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. Safety classifications according to SIL 3 (safety integrity level, IEC 61508) and PL e (performance level, EN 13849) are available for one stop button, up to 16 analog actuators, and up to eight digital actuators. Further, 48 digital and analog non-safety inputs/outputs are available. The third-party approved SISP (Scanreco Integrated Safety Platform) is a built-in information center to implement the safety functionality.

Integrated antenna enables communication with the receiver on radio frequency bands of 868 MHz, 915 MHz, and 2,4 GHz with automatic frequency hopping. Operating range of more than 100 m is possible. Power supply by a tether cable (12 VDC to 24 VDC) from the receiver or by a battery (7,2 VDC) is possible. Current consumption varies from 70 mA to 250 mA. Bluetooth connectivity is available for configuration via the company’s Modulate software. Essential components fit in a customizable area, and the side buttons may add extra functionality. Further features include operator-controlled speed reduction, integrated accelerometer and tilt sensor, vibrations and alarms, panel lights, as well as auto-off timer, LCD Information, and cable control.

The G6 Mini Transmitter provides the same environmental features as the G6 Micro, but is sized to 297 mm x 194 mm x 204 mm (ca. 2,2 kg) and provides more displayed information. The screen options range from simple LED to advanced Wi-Fi color screen. Side buttons, operator feedback, and two batteries further assist the operator at work. The transmitter is also equipped with the SISP platform.

The G6 CAN receiver pairs with the manufacturer’s G6 transmitters putting the machine performance into the operator hands. Its dimensions are 138 mm x 49 mm x 118 mm and it weighs 560 g. Protected according to IP67, it operates in the same temperature range as the transmitters. The device includes Loop, Stop_out, and Act_Mov overload-protected hardware outputs certified according to SIL 3 and PL e. CANopen and CANopen Safety higher-layer protocols are supported. The receiver is streamlined for all applications that require a CAN interface and is the right solution when there is a main controller on the machine, said the manufacturer.
