Second workshop on embedded networking for LEVs

CiA organizes a second workshop on embedded networking for light electric vehicles (LEVs) in order to evaluate specification needs and market demands. The workshop follows the first LEV workshop held on March 13, which identified several promising approaches and open standardization topics.

The discussions focused on the following areas:

  • In-vehicle networking based on CANopen and FIT 2.0
Such network architectures connect LEV-related devices including batteries, embedded chargers, gateways, gears, motor controllers, HMIs (human-machine interfaces), and sensors. To achieve a high degree of interoperability, standardized CANopen device and application profiles are required.
  • External CANopen-based interfaces for charging and diagnostics
Such interfaces would enable communication with CANopen-based public chargers as well as generic diagnostic tools.
NOTE: Only add-ons to IEC 61851-3 series.
  • Diagnostic interfaces for LEVs
This includes approaches such as UDS on CAN or other diagnostic concepts suitable for LEV applications.

The online workshop is scheduled for June 9, from 09:00 to 12:00 (UTC+2, Berlin time).

The objective of the workshop is to discuss and agree on a roadmap for future LEV-related CiA specifications and possible international standardization activities.

Registration by email is obligatory.
