Seminars for newcomers

In February, CiA provides a CAN seminar and a CANopen seminar for beginners. The 4-hour events introduce into CAN lower layers respectively CANopen higher-layer protocols. Registration for these charged trainings is open.

CAN physical layer webinar

The one-hour webinar on February 15 gives an overview about CAN physical layer options. The free-of-charge webinar describes the functionality and the scalability of CAN communication regarding bandwidth, topology, etc.

CiA 319 updated

End of 2022, CiA has released the CiA 319 document as draft specification proposal (DSP). It specifies the configuration of safety-related devices implementing CANopen Safety (EN 50325-5). The access is limited to CiA members.

CiA 443 updated

CiA has released the version 4.0.0 of the CiA 443 CANopen profile for SIIS level-2 devices. Now, the document specifies also battery management functionality. The bootloader handling has been clarified, too.

New ISO 11783-7 edition

The ISO 11783-7 implement message application layer standard has been updated. The 4th edition has been technically revised. Now, it incorporates all amendments and provides some requirement clarifications.

Electronica 2022 exhibition

In 14 halls, the international electronics industry met again in person from November 15 to November 18 in Munich. 2144 exhibitors and about 70 000 visitors saw some announcements regarding CAN technology. This included new MCUs (micro-controller unit), board-level products, and more. The CAN Newsletter published several articles regarding this.

CiA home game: SPS 2022

CAN in Automation has successfully participated at the SPS exhibition, hosted in its home-town Nuremberg from November 08 to 10, 2022. About 70 product panels from 31 CiA member companies have attracted visitors to the CiA stand. The CAN Newsletter also published several articles on products and developments found regarding CAN.
