A word from the CiA Managing Director

The novel coronavirus keeps us busy. After we have postponed the iCC 2020, we have withdrawn all face-to-face events. This includes CiA technical meetings, seminars, the CiA technology days in Spain, etc. Most of the CiA staff is now in home-office; just a few of us are in the CiA office. All online services are continued as usual. The CAN Newsletter is published as scheduled beginning of June. Almost daily product news are published online. The CAN Newsletter is a good opportunity to monitor developments in the CAN community. Therefore, advertisements in CAN Newsletter reach potential customers. CiA starts selling the iCC 2020 proceedings. They contain all 22 papers and the keynote speech. You can order them from CiA office. They are distributed by email in PDF format. Additionally, CiA has scheduled two free-of-charge webinars, in which Reiner Zitzmann and myself will present the trends provided in the iCC papers. Of course, in about 60 minutes we can provide just a brief summary.

Regarding technical trainings, CiA is going to offer online in-house seminars. The agenda is customized. One session lasts three hours. If more time is needed, you may book multiple sessions, which may be scheduled for different days. For details contact the CiA office.

CAN Newsletter Online

  • Corona pandemic and CAN
    The new virus goes around the world. CAN is not the right medicine against it, but CAN networks are used in medical equipment helping indirectly in the fight against the Covid-19 disease.

CAN Newsletter magazine

The March 2020 issue includes an article about designing CAN FD networks with SIC transceivers. These transceivers are capable to suppress ringing.
