Member login and user management

CiA members have access to information and services reserved for member organizations. Each person uses an individual account assigned to the respective organization.

The following short videos explain how to set or reset a password. Organization administrators can also learn how to maintain their organization information and manage the assigned user accounts.

Login and password

The following videos are intended for all users of a CiA member organization.

Setting the password for a new account

When your organization creates an account for you, you receive an email with a link to set your password. The video shows how to open this link, check the displayed account, choose a password, and continue to the login page.

Resetting a forgotten password

If you forgot your password, you can request a reset link on the login page. Enter the email address assigned to your account. If the address exists in the directory, you receive an email with a link for setting a new password.

Organization and user management

Each CiA member organization can appoint one or more organization administrators. In the user management interface, this role is named Manager.

Managers can maintain the organization information and administer the user accounts assigned to their organization. The following videos explain the available functions.

First login and changing your password

After login, an organization administrator is directed to the page of the respective organization. This page provides the organization information, user statistics, available actions, and recently added users.

The video also shows how organization administrators can change their own password.

Viewing and editing organization information

The organization page contains the contact and profile information stored for the member organization. Organization administrators can update details such as the address, telephone number, website, and email address.

The organization name cannot be changed by an organization administrator.

Adding users and changing their status

Organization administrators can add users to their organization. It is recommended to send an invitation link, so that the new user can set an individual password.

The account status determines whether a user can log in. Deactivating an account prevents access without removing the user from the organization.

Assigning the Manager role

The Manager role can be assigned to further users of the organization. These users can then administer the organization information and its user accounts.

The role can be removed when it is no longer required. At least one Manager must remain assigned to the organization.

Helping users and removing accounts

Organization administrators can send a password reset link to a user, correct user information, or remove an account.

Sending a reset link allows the user to choose a new password. Deleting an account is permanent and cannot be undone. Before a Manager account can be deleted, the Manager role must be removed.
