CANopen protocols

CANopen offers several communication objects (COB), which enable system designers to transfer control information, to react to certain error conditions or to influence and control the network behavior. The capability of a CANopen device can be evaluated by checking the existence of those CANopen object dictionary entries, which describe the related communication behavior.

CANopen also provides a model of the internal device structure.
