CAN networked crop sprayer

The Hardi-Evrad Alpha crop sprayer uses a drive system that is networked via a CAN line. The machine’s running gear features engines and a hydrostatic transmission. The Alpha is one of a host of self-propelled crop sprayers produced in France by Hardi International’s Evrad unit. The mechanical layout of the vehicle reflects a preference amongst most European crop sprayer manufacturers for an engine-mounted out-front to counterbalance the weight of the rear-mounted spray boom to provide easy access for servicing, maintenance and repairs.
