Events and seminars

  • iCC

The international CAN Conference (iCC) takes place about every 18 months and features lectures and workshops about the developments in CAN technology. The iCC acts as unique platform for presentation of CAN developments. Experts from all over the world and from the most diversified application areas have met for years at this international event. The conference is unique in its target group and offers visitors the possibilities to become acquainted with the latest developments in CAN. It is also a platform for lecturing on CAN-based research and for exchanging experiences internationally with experts from related work fields.

  • MMC

The international Mobile Machine Control conference (MMC) is going to take place in the Meistersingerhalle, Nuremberg (Germany) on June 12 and 13, 2013. Experts in mobile machine control from all over the world meet to lecture on latest developments, to discuss new applications, and to exchange experience. The MMC is not limited to CAN-related topics, but focuses also safety and security, fleet management, and any other topic of controlling mobile machines. Mobile machines include construction machines, off-highway vehicles, agriculture and forestry machines as well as outdoor vehicles and truck-mounted bodies (e.g. refuse collecting vehicles).

  • Seminars

CiA offers a variety of training events. CANopen seminars offer an introduction to CANopen technology. They also offer detailed information on CANopen device, interface and application profiles as well as additional profiles like CANopen safety, conformance testing, and others. CANopen seminars also include CANopen device and system configuration. CAN basic knowledge is offered in the so-called CANschools, which give CAN newcomers a product- and vendor-independent introduction to CAN basic knowledge including higher-layer protocols such as CANopen, TTCAN, J1939-based protocols, etc.

  • In-house seminars

CiA offers in-house seminars for companies with specific training requirements. The agenda of an in-house seminar is tailored to the customer's needs. CiA trainers are experienced in teaching CAN technology.

  • Cooperations

CiA member companies benefit from joint activities with CiA headquarters. Beside the offered opportunities CiA members may propose other forms of cooperation and may request e. g. speakers for their own events.

  • Plug fests

CANopen plug-fests, organized by CiA, are intended for developers as well as for system integrators. The purpose of these events is to prove interoperability of CANopen devices and to support the engineers in optimizing the software of their devices. In addition the engineers acquire a better understanding on problems occurring during the system integration. Furthermore the results are a valuable input in order to improve the related CANopen profiles. All CANopen plug-fests are for CiA members only and participation is free of charge.

  • Exhibitions

CiA is present at different fairs and exhibitions with CiA information stands or with joint stands on which CiA member companies present their CAN and CANopen products and services.

  • Interoperability test

CAN in Automation is proud to offer from this day forward the service of interoperability testing in CAN in Automation`s testing laboratory.
