Aircrafts and aerospace vehicles
Many aircrafts implement CAN networks. Most of them are used in front-end sub-systems with proprietary higher-layer protocols. The CANaerospace application layer is used several aircrafts, mainly by small- and medium-sized manufacturers.
In satellites and other outer-space applications, CAN networks are used as embedded network. The European Space Agency (ESA) uses CANopen as higher-layer protocol for its in-satellite networks.
