Trains and rail vehicles
In locomotives, coaches, and cargo wagons, CAN networks are used for many different purposes. In some applications, only some front-end sub-systems are based on CAN. These include in-vehicle brake or lighting control systems. In other applications, the entire in-locomotive network is based on CAN. In a few applications, CAN is also used as train network interconnecting the coaches and wagons. However, in most of the applications CAN is applied to the vehicle networks.
